What are UAVs?

Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) are essential components of Unmanned Aerial System (UAS), commonly called a drone. Well equipped with onboard computers, the autonomous aircraft require ground-based controllers to control them remotely. Military purposes introduced this technology, but in the past few years, giants like Google, Amazon, DHL, Uber, Boing, and many others are investing in UAV technology due to lucrative opportunities in the market worldwide.

Drone Job Opportunities

There is a vital requirement for data collection for several industries, including but not limited to construction. Companies rely more on accurate data collection and analysis from the software, which further enhances the global business output. The new hardware and components development is helping customers generate real-time maps regularly due to advanced cameras, modern computing, and faster microprocessors. The potential application for the UAV market also includes automated mapping, cadastral surveying, LIDAR mapping, and volumetric calculation by drone software.

In the last few years, strong demand for UAVs in numerous countries has grown due to the emergence of drone technology and the several capabilities associated with it. Most industries have registered for drone use to gather extensive information to ought for desired strategic decisions. It has become the fastest-growing market in the commercial sector and its various applications such as construction, mining, oil and gas, and agriculture worldwide.

Application Analisys

The segments of the UAV market are military, commercial, and recreational. The military part will hold the maximum share due to the increasing demand from several countries for UAVs such as Medium Altitude Endurance (MALE) UAV and High Altitude Long Endurance (HALE) UAV various missions. Significant operations like border monitoring, surveillance, and border security are fueling the demand and will grow in the coming years.

The commercial segment will grow significantly in the future owing to rapid adoption in surveying, aerial mapping, crop monitoring, forest monitoring, and logistic. Companies such as Uber and DHL are investing big for the development of Air Taxi and logistics applications. UAV pilots are already in big demand.

Real Estate Use on the Rise

Real estate pros increasingly use drones to capture aerial photos and videos of their listings or even the interiors – and new Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) rules may allow even more use going forward.

FAA recently eased some restrictions and expanded some drone rules by authorizing operations at night and over people and moving vehicles. FAA’s new Remote Identification Rule will not go into effect until Sept. 15, 2023, allowing drone operations over people.

A new Window to the Law – A video produced by the National Association of Realtors®’ (NAR) legal team shares how this could expand drone use among real estate professionals. FAA’s Operations Over People and at Night Rule, which already took effect March 16, may allow real estate pros to capture aerial twilight photos and videos of their listings.

To be able to operate commercial drones, pilots need to be certified. This course will help you pass the FAA Part 107 drone license test to become an FAA certified commercial drone pilot so you can fly your drone commercially in the United States.
